Classical Music for Wedding Ceremonies

Prelude

The prelude is the thirty to forty-five minute period before the brides arrives for the ceremony. This time allows the guests to be seated, and gives them to chance to relax and reflect. Many couples choose soothing, unobtrusive selections that set the tone for this time.

Processional

The Processional begins when the mother of the bride is seated and the bride commences her walk down the aisle. This calls for uplifting music that places the bride at center stage!

Interlude

Music can maintain a joyous and solemn mood throughout the ceremony reflecting the seriousness of the vows and ceremony, and the excitement of the bride and groom as well as their family and friends. If you are marrying in a house of worship or other spiritual center, make sure you check with the officiant performing your ceremony that the music you wish to have performed is acceptable. [Any of these selections may also be played during the lighting of the Unity Candle.]

Recessional

Finally...the big moment! The bride and groom have kissed, are pronounced husband and wife, and begin their walk up the aisle as a married couple. This calls for lively and celebratory music (nothing to slow or mellow) because couples get caught up in their excitement (rightfully so!) and sprint up the aisle together!
